The Fred. Olsen group of companies was heavily involved in the construction of the Borkum Riffgrund II Offshore Wind Farm. On 31 August 2018, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up installation vessel Bold Tern successfully installed the final turbine, completing installation of the 56 MHI Vestas V164-8.0MW turbines at Borkum Riffgrund II in only four months, ahead of schedule. Global Wind Service (GWS) supplied technicians for pre-assembly, installation and electrical and mechanical completion. CHPV was contracted by their long-term client Fred. Olsen to make four films and also undertake still photography. MHI Vestas were so impressed they also asked CHPV to supply material for their own publicity. CHPV's pilot Alan O'Neill commented that the project resulted in some of the best offshore drone footage he has ever produced.

The Borkum Riffgrund II Offshore Wind Farm is located 57km off the north-west coast of Germany. Jointly owned by Global Infrastructure Partners and Ørsted, the 56  turbines have a total output of 450MW, and will provide up to 460,000 households with clean energy.
